How to uninstall RescueTime
Uninstalling RescueTime
Windows
- Quit RescueTime:
- In the RescueTime Assistant, click the gear icon and select "Quit RescueTime."
- If needed, force quit using Task Manager:
- Press CTRL + ALT + Delete → Select Task Manager → Find RescueTime → Click End Task
- Uninstall the App:
- From the Start menu:
- Right-click RescueTime → Click Uninstall
- Or through Control Panel:
- Open Control Panel → Click Uninstall a Program
- Find RescueTime → Click Uninstall
- From the Start menu:
This process removes the RescueTime app and all its configuration files from your computer.
Mac
- Quit RescueTime:
- In the RescueTime Assistant, click the gear icon and select "Quit RescueTime."
- If needed, force quit:
- Click the Apple icon → Select Force Quit → Choose RescueTime
- Or, open Activity Monitor (Applications > Utilities), find RescueTime, click the X icon, and select Force Quit
- Uninstall the App:
- Open Finder → Click Applications
- Drag RescueTime to the Trash
- Remove Configuration Files (Optional):
- In Finder, hold OPTION while clicking Go in the menu bar
- Select Library → Find the RescueTime folder
- Drag it to the Trash
This will completely remove RescueTime and its settings from your Mac.
