How to download and install RescueTime for Windows
To track your computer activity, you'll need to download and install RescueTime on your desktop. Logging in on the RescueTime website without installing the desktop app will not track your computer activity.
Download the RescueTime Assistant from the website.
After clicking Download, look for the file RescueTimeInstaller_X.exe in the lower left corner of your desktop and open it. You can also find it in your Downloads folder if that’s your default location for downloaded files.

The RescueTime Installer will ask you to allow the app to make changes to your device. Click Yes to start the setup process.

The Setup window will ask where RescueTime should be installed on your computer. If you’d like to change the location of the file click Browse. If not, click Next.

You’ll be asked where you want to place RescueTime’s shortcut folder. If you’d like to change the location of the file click Browse. If not, click Next.

You can control whether RescueTime automatically starts when you turn on or restart your computer. This setting can be changed at any time.

Click Install.

Click the Finish button.

The Assistant will open and ask you to sign in. Click the Sign in button to be taken to the RescueTime website to sign in to your RescueTime account.

After signing in, click Activate Assistant.
