How to download and install RescueTime for MacOS
To track your websites and desktop apps, you'll need to download and install the RescueTime Assistant. RescueTime does not track activity directly from the website.
1. To get started, download the RescueTime Assistant. It's easy to do, just click here and hit the Download button for Mac.
After clicking the Download button, find the file named RescueTimeInstaller_X.zip in the upper-right corner of your browser or the lower-left corner (depending on your browser configuration) and click on it. You can also find this file in your Download folder assuming that's where your default downloads go.
2. Double-click
RescueTimeInstaller_X.zip to unzip
RescueTime.app. Drag
RescueTime.app to your
Applications folder.
3. Go to your
Applications folder and double-click on the RescueTime app.
You'll be prompted with a security measure from Mac. Click
Open.
4. The
Assistant will open from your menu bar, asking you to sign in. When you click the
Sign In button you’ll be taken to the RescueTime website on your default web browser to sign into your RescueTime account.
5. After signing in, click the
Activate Assistant button.
6. Once activated, your Assistant will appear when you click the RescueTime icon in your menu bar.
