How to Update RescueTime
RescueTime updates automatically in the background.
If you need to force an update or reinstall the latest version manually, there are two ways to do it.
Open Settings
Click the RescueTime icon in your menu bar (macOS) or system tray (Windows) to open the Assistant, click the gear icon, and select Settings.
Check for updates
Click Check for updates. If an update is available, follow the prompts to install it.
Download the latest version
Download RescueTime from the website. The file will appear in your Downloads folder.
Run the installer
Open the downloaded file and follow the setup steps. On Windows, right-click the installer and choose Run as administrator to make sure it installs with the right permissions.
Restart your computer
Restart after installation to make sure everything is running cleanly.
