Team Billing

The account owner is billed for the entire team.

Individual members do not manage their own RescueTime billing while they are part of a team account. Team plans are available on a monthly or yearly billing cycle, chosen by the owner during setup.

How It Works

Free trial

New teams start with a two-week free trial before billing begins. You won't be charged if you cancel before the trial ends.

The trial applies to the whole team. Members added during the trial period are included at no charge until the trial ends, at which point billing begins for the full team on the selected plan.

Adding new members

If your team is past the free trial and you add a new member, billing for that member begins immediately. The charge is  prorated based on the time remaining in your current billing cycle, so you only pay for the days they're active in that period.

This applies to both monthly and yearly plans. After the prorated charge, the new member is included in the same billing cycle as the rest of the team going forward.

Removing members

Owners and admins can remove members from the team at any time under Organization Settings → Members. Once removed, a member will no longer contribute data to team reports.

Billing adjustments for removed members depend on your plan and current billing status. For specific questions about credits or adjustments, contact RescueTime support.

What members see

Members of a team account can see that their account is included in the organization's subscription, but they cannot view payment details, billing history, or invoices. That information is only accessible to the account owner.

Members with billing questions should contact the account owner directly.
