RescueTime + Slack
RescueTime can automatically update your Slack status to reflect what you're working on.
When you're in a Focus Session or in a meeting, your Slack status updates automatically. You can customize the status text and emoji for each state. Status updates only happen during your configured work hours.
Connect Slack to RescueTime
💡 Make sure you're signed in to Slack in your browser before starting.
Connect your Slack account
Click Connect your Slack account.
Grant permissions
Slack will ask you to grant RescueTime permission to update your status. Click Allow.
You're connected
RescueTime is now connected to Slack and will start updating your status during work hours.
Focus Session status updates
During a Focus Session, your Slack status updates to show you're in a session, with a timer and snooze icon next to your profile image. Hovering over your profile shows how long the session will last. When the session ends, the status clears automatically. Change Slack settings in Manage Apps.
Other status updates
Toggle on additional status updates to let teammates know when you're in a meeting or doing Focus Work. Each status is fully customizable: you can change the text and the emoji to match your team's style.
Disconnect Slack from RescueTime
Go to Manage Apps, click the gear icon next to Slack, select Delete app, and confirm.
